Send the group two clear options, rather than asking everyone to invent a design. Keep the same garment color when comparing the artwork so people are deciding on one thing at a time. Ask one person to approve the spelling and date.
A matching set can use one design and one color, or the same design across a small palette. Check the product’s actual color and size combinations before promising either. The current family tee is an adult product; do not assume a child’s size is available because the page says “family.”
